About Ms. Kayla

I have been working in early childhood education since 2017. I began my career at Bright Horizons in Fort Collins, CO, as a part-time floater teacher. I would go in and give teachers lunch breaks and relieve the full-time teachers at the end of the day. Eventually, I was given the opportunity to serve as the acting lead toddler teacher when the center experienced staffing changes. During that time, I obtained my Child Development Associate certificate, which allowed me to become the full-time lead toddler teacher. After COVID, I realized I wanted to go back to school to further my career goals. I left Bright Horizons in 2020 and began nannying to have a flexible schedule to incorporate my early childhood development classes through Aims Community College. During my time nannying, I was able to turn my home into an in-home young toddler and preschool program. In the fall of 2022, I was able to open my in-home preschool program full-time while still completing my early childhood education courses at Aims. In May of 2023, I completed my courses at Aims and obtained my Early Childhood Education Entry, Early Childhood Assistant Teacher, and Early Childhood Director certificates. Since then, I have dedicated my time to creating an engaging, safe, and loving environment for young children to find a love of learning and grow into extraordinary children.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading books, spending time with my family, going on walks and bike rides, and taking my Jeep off-roading. During the summer, I love sitting on the porch or back patio to soak up the sun. My family and I love to have a little bonfire when we are able to. After work, if you can't find me with my family enjoying a relaxing evening, you bet you can find me reading!
